How to deploy CubeBackup in AWS using AMI (Amazon Machine Images).

As a self-hosted backup solution, CubeBackup is available in AWS (Amazon Web Services) Marketplace. You can easily deploy CubeBackup on an Amazon EC2 instance and back up your business data to Amazon S3 cloud storage.

Launch a CubeBackup AMI on AWS

  1. Amazon Machine Images (AMI) of CubeBackup are available in the AWS Marketplace:

  2. Click the Continue to Subscribe button and Continue to Configuration button to set up your CubeBackup instance.

  3. In the Configure this software page, select the Region of your instance, and then click the Continue to Launch button.

  4. In the Launch this software page, select Launch through EC2 in the Choose Action field if you are an experienced AWS user. Otherwise, for a quick start of your Cubebackup instance, please use the default Launch from Website option and follow the instructions below:

    • Select an EC2 Instance Type according to your organization size.

Note: CubeBackup requires your VM to have at least 4 GB of memory. For a relatively large organization with more than 50 users to back up, t3.large or t3.xlarge is recommended.

    • Scroll down to the bottom of the page and configure the Key Pair Settings to access your CubeBackup instance in the future. If you've never used an AWS key pair before, please follow the instructions given to create one.

    • The default values for VPC, Subnet and Security Group Settings should work in most cases. Finally, click the Launch button to proceed.

  5. Now you've successfully deployed a CubeBackup instance and can view it in your AWS EC2 console. You can click on the Connect button on the detail page of your EC2 instance to access it using SSH on Linux or Microsoft RDP on a Windows server.

Configure CubeBackup

  1. Once the EC2 instance is successfully deployed and running, the CubeBackup service will have automatically started. Find the Public IP address in the VM overview page. Visit http://<your-instance-public-ip> directly in a web browser to open the CubeBackup initial setup wizard.

  2. Go through the initial configuration following the instructions here:
